The sun is staying out longer at night, trees are growing leaves and winter seems to have had its’ last gasp – it’s almost spring time! This means you’ll want to start looking at airing out and, generally, opening up your house. This, of course, is also a perfect time to begin thinking of spring cleaning.
There are several around-the-house chores that absolutely need to be handled during a spring-cleaning session, including but not limited to:
Wash and dust your vents
All winter, you’ve ran the heater. Or, if you’ve had any reasonably warm winter days, you may have neglected to touch your air conditioner unit at all. This means your vents are dusty, covered in dirt, and in desperate need of some attention. Warmer weather is just around the corner, and you’ll want to use your air conditioner sooner rather than later. Better to get the vents cleaned now than wait until June or July.
Flip and rotate your mattress
Think of all the cold winter nights you spent snuggled under a blanket. Well, it’s time to refresh your sleeping arrangement with a flipped mattress. This should be done once a year, and there’s no better time to do it than during a spring cleaning session.
Thoroughly wash your windows
The grime of winter weather – snow, sleet, rain, etc. – has built up on the outside of your windows for the past several months. It’s also highly possible that the insides of your windows could use a good scrubbing. Get out that glass cleaner and give your windows a good washing.
These three things should definitely be done as winter winds down. Once you’ve got your vents cleaned, your mattress flipped and your windows cleared, you can move on to other parts of the house that need to be cleaned!
