To be eligible for an Intermediate Unrestricted License, the applicant must be 17 years old and must have held an Intermediate Restricted License for at least one year. Like its name implies, the Unrestricted License imposes none of the above restrictions on the licensee, but it will state “Intermediate” to show that the holder is still under 18.

Drivers may be eligible for a Class D regular driver’s license when they reach age 18, or when they graduate high school or receive a GED, whichever happens sooner. This license will no longer state “Intermediate,” but it will indicate if the driver is under 21.
